In development for iOS and Android

Wherever you stay,
know what is on the network.

Böcekto scans devices visible on your current Wi-Fi network and explains which ones show camera-related signals.

How it works

A clearer check in three steps.

Böcekto turns technical signals into plain language, explaining what it sees and why it may matter.

01

Join the Wi-Fi network

Connect to the Wi-Fi at your accommodation as usual. Only scan a local network you are present on and authorized to use.

02

Start the scan

The app analyzes reachable devices and the standard service information they publish, directly on your phone.

03

Understand the results

Review devices that may be cameras together with a confidence level and the technical signals behind it.

Explainable assessment

It does not say “camera found.”
It explains why a device stands out.

A single open port or vendor name is not enough for a conclusion. Böcekto evaluates multiple network signals and explains the resulting confidence level.

What does Böcekto do?
  • Lists visible local-network devicesShows devices reachable on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Explains each assessmentShows the technical reasons behind every signal level.
  • Suggests safer next stepsEncourages calm, evidence-aware action instead of panic.
What does Böcekto not do?
  • ×Guarantee every hidden camera is foundIt may miss offline, isolated or otherwise unreachable devices.
  • ×Access video or audioIt does not open or record camera streams.
  • ×Break passwordsIt does not sign in to devices or exploit vulnerabilities.
  • ×Accuse anyone of a crimeA network signal alone is not evidence of voyeurism.
Privacy by default

It scans your network.
The result stays with you.

In the planned mobile app, scan results are processed on your device and are not sent to application servers unless you choose to share them.

If a result looks suspicious

Put your safety first.

A result is an estimate based on network signals. If you feel unsafe, do not tamper with a device or confront anyone. Consider leaving the space and contacting the booking platform, property management or appropriate local authorities.

Frequently asked questions

What you may still be wondering.

Can Böcekto find every hidden camera?

No. It can only assess devices reachable on your current local network. Cameras that are offline, on another network, behind client isolation or recording only to local storage may not appear.

Does it confirm that a device is a camera?

No. Böcekto combines indicators such as standard network services, device information and vendor matches, then presents an explainable signal level rather than a definitive verdict.

Can it see wired cameras too?

A wired device may appear if it is reachable on the same local network as your phone. Mobile operating systems cannot reliably tell whether a device itself uses Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

Does it access camera footage?

No. It does not open video or audio streams, try passwords, sign in to devices or exploit vulnerabilities.

Where does scan data go?

In the planned first release, analysis runs on the phone and results remain on the device by default. This behavior will be verified again through technical testing before release.

What should I do if a result looks suspicious?

Stay calm. A result is only an estimate based on technical signals. If you feel unsafe, do not tamper with a device or confront anyone; consider leaving and contacting the booking platform or appropriate local authorities.
